Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ovotone (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our software — our mobile apps, our desktop (macOS) applications, and this website. By using our software or website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Ovotone is based in Uithoorn, the Netherlands, and acts as the data controller for the processing described here. You can reach us at any time at support@ovotone.com.

1. The short version

2. Data collected through our mobile apps

The following data may be collected through our iOS and iPadOS apps but is not linked to your identity:

2.1 User ID

We may collect user identifiers for the following purposes:

2.2 Device ID

We collect device identifiers for the following purposes:

2.3 Purchase History

We collect purchase history information for the following purposes:

3. Data collected through our desktop software

Our macOS applications, including NRRW, are distributed directly from our website and are designed to work without an account.

4. Data collected through this website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes basic technical request data — such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and timestamp — to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. These records are retained only briefly by the provider and are not used by us to build profiles.

5. Purchases and payments

We never receive or store your full payment details.

6. Support correspondence

If you email us, we process the contents of your message, your email address, and anything else you choose to include (such as a license key, order number or crash log) in order to answer you. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and to keep a record of purchases and warranty claims.

7. What we do not collect

8. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

9. Sharing and service providers

We share data only with providers that process it on our behalf, under contract, and only to the extent needed to run our business:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to establish or defend legal claims.

10. International transfers

Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved safeguard.

11. Retention

We keep purchase and license records for as long as the license is valid and for as long as tax and accounting law requires (in the Netherlands, generally seven years). Support correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to resolve and reference the request. Technical request logs are short-lived and handled by our hosting provider.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and the right to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email support@ovotone.com — we will respond within one month.

If you are in the EEA and believe we have handled your data improperly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

13. Children

Our software is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Security

We keep the data we hold to a minimum, use reputable providers, and rely on encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for everything transmitted between your device, our website and our providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Ovotone may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and the most current version will always be posted on our website at ovotone.com/privacy-policy. If a revision is material, we will notify you through our software, our website, or other appropriate means.

16. Contact us
